Larry Taylor has served as the City Attorney
for the City of Olney Since 1981.
The City Attorney performs legal work representing
the city in civil and criminal matters and serves
as legal advisor to the Mayor and City Council. He
provides legal advice to the Mayor and City Council,
City Manager, department supervisors, and all city
commissions and boards on city matters. He attends
all regular and special meetings of the City Council,
when possible, and assists the Council in deliberations.
He attends all regular and special Board of Appeals
and Planning Commission meetings when possible. The
City Attorney drafts and supervises drafting of all
ordinances and resolutions. He drafts or approves
all contracts, leases, assignments, deeds, or other
legal documents entered into or executed by or on
behalf of the city before the same shall be executed.
The City Attorney attends, prosecutes or defends,
or causes to be prosecuted or defended, all suits
in which the city is party, in any court, and shall
use all necessary and proper means for the enforcement
and protection of the rights of the city.

Pursuant to 735 ILCS 5/15-1503 and 735
ILCS 5/15-1508, Notices of Foreclosure for residential
real estate mortgages on property located within the
corporate limits of the City of Olney, Illinois, shall
