Leaf Burning
NEWS RELEASE
The City of Olney would like to remind citizens about open burning within the city. Leaves are allowed to be burned in residential districts between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. All fires must be extinguished by 3:00 p.m. No burning should take place on the road surface including the curb and gutter of any street or alley or on sidewalks. No flame should extend over five feet above ground level. The City of Olney does not have a leaf collection program so citizens are asked not to rake leaves into streets or ditches. Citizens may take the leaves to the City’s landscape waste facility which is located on the northeast corner of the intersection of Seven Hills Land and Fox Road.
