Borah Lake was constructed in 1955-56 as a water source to replace Vernor Lake. The lake covers 136 acres and is located north of East Fork Lake off of Golf Lane.

Borah Lake features a boat launch areas with boat docks, a swimming area, and a playground.  When utilizing the swimming area, please note these rules for your safety and the safety of other visitors:

  • Refrain from swimming and/or wading if you have any communicable disease or skin infections
  • Do not pollute the waters in any manner
  • No swimming after sunset or when lightning is present
  • No pets are allowed in the beach/swimming area
  • No one under the influence of alcohol or other drugs, or exhibiting eratic behavior should stay at the beach area
  • Please do not litter.  Use the waste recepticles provided
  • You may bring your own food and drink, but glass containers and bottles are not permitted
  • No one under the age of 17 shall swim or wade without a responsible party over the age of 17 years
  • There is absolutely no diving allowed from any City-owned property, including the public boat docks
  • No sunbathing is allowed on the boat docks.  The boat docks are for the launching and return of watercraft
