Alvin and Wenonah Musgrove, long time residents of Olney, donated approximately 20 acres of land to the City of Olney to be used as a park. In May of 1997 the Dr. Monte Musgrove Aquatic Center was opened. The Aquatic Center was named after Mr. and Mrs. Musgrove's late son.
The City of Olney recently received a grant from Ameren Illinois for the planting of several trees in the park. These trees were planted during the 2015 season.
The Wenonah Musgrove Recreation Area features a two playground areas (including the Together We Play Park), shelter, lighted basketball courts, soccer field and skateboard park. In 2016, a Tree Identification Park was also added.
Also located in this area is the Musgrove Ball Diamond Complex which includes four boys' baseball diamonds and four girls' softball diamonds. There is also a Babe Ruth ball diamond which is used by the Babe Ruth league and adult leagues.
